CyclamenHederifolium

6 bulbs for € 11.00

(syn. Neapolitanum. Nicknames include Pig's Bread, Alpine Violet...). This is the classic autumn-blooming Cyclamen.

The 20 species of garden cyclamen originally occur in the countries around the Mediterranean. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek κύκλος, kuklos, which means circle or target. Both the flattened tuber and the growth habit of the plant are circular. The tuber can live for decades; there are even specimens known to have reached a hundred and continued to bloom.

The leaves are beautifully marbled and appear during the winter months. Cyclamen grow well over the years, but they usually need 1 year of adjustment before blooming.

Cyclamen are extremely suitable for naturalization.
