(Pheasant's eye)

The true old-fashioned ‘poet's daffodil’. White with a multicolored (predominantly yellow) crown and a red edge. An excellent late-blooming variety for naturalizing.

Deliciously fragrant.

If you also want to enjoy the lovely scent of these daffodils, you can plant the bulbs near the house, for example in pots or in beds next to the front door, in the front yard, or close to the terrace.

To be planted in the fall, winter-hardy.

There are many types of daffodils. Here is the official classification of the different types:

  1. Trumpet; 1 flower per stem. The trumpet is longer than the petals.
  2. Large-crowned; 1 flower per stem. The trumpet is longer than 1/3 of the length of the petals but not longer than the petals themselves.
  3. Small-crowned; 1 flower per stem. The trumpet is no longer than 1/3 of the length of the petals.
  4. Double; 1 or more flowers per stem. Doubling of petals or a double trumpet or both.
  5. Triandrus; 1 or more flowers per stem. Petals point strongly backward.
  6. Cyclamineus; 1 flower per stem. Petals point backward. Flower bent toward the ground relative to the stem.
  7. Jonquilla; 1 to 5 flowers per stem. Hollow or funnel-shaped trumpet. Often fragrant.
  8. Tazetta; 3 to 20 flowers per (sturdy) stem. Petals do not point backward. Often fragrant.
  9. Poeticus; usually 1 flower per stem. Petals pure white. Cup very short or disc-shaped, often yellow with a green heart and sometimes an orange edge. Usually fragrant.
  10. Bulbocodium; usually 1 flower per stem. Very small petals in relation to the large cup.
  11. Split-crowned, divided into two groups:
    1. Collar daffodil; the cup is open over the petals. Usually in 2 groups of 3.
    2. Butterfly daffodil; the cup is open but slightly turned over the petals.
  12. All daffodils that do not fall into another category.
