Anemones De Caen Hollandia
24 bulbs for € 8.25
(Anemone Coronaria)
Large single red flowers. Preferably soak overnight in water before planting. Large size. Anemones are also beautiful as cut flowers. If you want to place them in a vase, make sure the flowers are closed when you cut them.
The beautiful anemone prefers a sunny spot. The anemone is best protected by a cover of low perennials, ensuring winter hardiness. Plant the bulbs about 5 cm deep.
Do you like to create a nice effect? Then plant your anemones in groups of at least 10 bulbs. The name anemone is derived from the Greek word ‘anemos’ which means wind. Another theory traces back to ancient times. Anemona was a nymph at the court of the goddess Flora. According to the legend, Flora's Zephyr, the god of the wind, fell in love with Anemona, upon which the jealous goddess transformed her into a flower.
Whatever the origin of the name, the cheerful flower provides long enjoyment in a sunny atmosphere.
When the anemones have finished blooming and the flowering season is over, the plant will wilt. You can then cut it back to the ground. This is the only form of pruning that anemones need.
