The Dahlias from the “Melody” series are all quite compact and therefore very suitable for planting on a terrace or patio. They are actually decorative dwarf dahlias.

The Dahlia is a tuberous crop originally from Mexico that was brought from America to Europe around 1800. Here, the leaf tuber was named after the Swedish botanist Andreas Dahl.

When the risk of (night) frost has passed, dahlia tubers can be planted.
Dig a planting hole where the dahlia tuber fits comfortably and cover it with a few centimeters of soil. Plant the tuber with the piece of old stem facing up.
Dahlias love nutrient-rich soil. You can enrich poor garden soil by mixing compost into the planting hole. They are true sun lovers, so plant them in a sunny spot.
