Eucomis comosa is often propagated from seed, resulting in variation in colors. Very beautiful is the offspring with red flowers and green leaves that have a dark haze over them. In a pot, the plant grows to about 30 centimeters tall.
Less susceptible to diseases than the other types
Suitable for both pots and the garden. Blooms for a very long time. In the garden, it is only moderately resistant to heavy night frost (so cover very well or plant in a sheltered location)
The bulbs in the pot can be stored entirely in a cool, frost-free place. Give a little water occasionally. After the frost, the pot can go back outside.
