Split-corona daffodils have a strikingly open and flat center. They somewhat resemble a butterfly, hence the popular name butterfly or papillonnarcissus.
Many daffodil varieties are suitable for naturalizing, That means they can simply remain in the ground after flowering! The foliage must be allowed to die back naturally; the bulbs will flower again the following year.
Daffodils are also perfectly suited to pots or tubs on the patio.
