This is a personal recommendation of mine.
Not yet really well known, but definitely worth trying. A relatively early variety growing to approximately 90 cm tall, with a lovely, large, airy flower.
Purple Rain is a cross between the classic, well-known Allium Purple Sensation and Allium Christophii (hence the large, airy flower).
For a beautiful effect, plant in groups if possible. Allium Purple Rain has a stunning purple flower. This ornamental onion grows somewhat more openly than other varieties, with beautiful star-shaped flowers.
It is also a beautiful and rewarding cut flower. The hollow stem stands up well in the wind. The plant simply bends along with it, so you do not have to worry about the flowers snapping.
The faded flowers and/or seed pods are also highly decorative. In addition, they are very easy to combine with perennials, ornamental grasses, or other flower bulbs. Plant them among various ground covers, perennials, and ornamental grasses. Preferably in light, well-drained soil. A sunny location will give the best results.
