Choose a sunny spot in the garden where the Dahlias can shine. Some Dahlias can grow up to 2 meters tall while others only reach 30 cm. Therefore, pay attention to the significant height differences and give them a place where the height of the Dahlia stands out among the rest of the planting.
Rake the soil well so that it becomes nice and airy. Remove any weeds and small stones, then the Dahlia will feel right at home.
Dig a hole that is spacious enough for the Dahlia tuber. Make sure the hole is not too deep, as Dahlias like to feel the warmth of the sun. They only need to be planted a few centimeters below the surface.
Place the Dahlia tuber in the hole with the piece of old stem facing up.
Cover the Dahlia tuber with the excavated soil.
Pour a generous amount of water over the planted Dahlia tuber. This ensures that the roots will start to grow quickly.
