Dahlia lia Hayley Jane

The cactus dahlia Hayley Jane has cream white elongated petals with pink/purplish tips.
Type from 1978 (Titchard)
The roots of this beauty lie in Mexico. The Mexican Francisco Hernandez was a great fan of dahlias and began writing about them in 1615. This publicity led to dahlias being brought from Mexico to Spain. From there, the dahlia was introduced to Europe two hundred years later, in 1804, by botanist Andreas Dahl.
When the risk of (night) frost has passed, dahlia tubers can be planted.
Dig a planting hole that the dahlia tuber fits comfortably in and cover it with a few centimeters of soil. Plant the tuber with the piece of old stem facing up.
Dahlias love nutrient-rich soil. You can enrich poor garden soil by mixing compost into the planting hole. They are true sun lovers, so plant them in a sunny spot.
Do you want to enjoy an endless sea of flowers for as long as possible? Then cut away the faded dahlia flowers. This ensures that the dahlia keeps producing new flowers.
Don't have a garden, but do have a balcony or terrace? Then you too can enjoy lush flowers. Dahlias thrive perfectly in pots and planters.
When to buy dahlia tubers? Plant dahlia tubers this spring for a beautiful colorful garden or terrace in the summer! We always try to offer the largest size and best quality for the most beautiful result.
