That changed when Joséphine de Beauharnais, wife of Napoleon, impulsively had her garden planted full of dahlias. She set the trend; from that moment on, everyone wanted these coquettish ladies in their garden. Until they suddenly became affordable because they were so desired. The status changed from 'popular' to 'common'. For a long time, the charming dahlia had to cope with this undeserved status, but fortunately, she has been rediscovered!
