The one and only saffron crocus.
Beautiful violet-purple flowers from which you can harvest the stamens as saffron. Very delicious in the kitchen. The labor-intensive cultivation makes saffron the most precious spice, the red gold. In return, only one thread of saffron is enough to color a liter of boiling water deep yellow in an hour. Saffron is used in rice dishes, bread dough, and liqueurs.
Crocus Sativus is preferably planted in a sunny location, shielded in winter. Plant immediately upon receipt.
Harvest the stamens when the flowers begin to open. Extra thick size.
