Lilium (lily) Forever Susan

6 bulbs for € 12.00

(Asian)

Forever Susan is, to say the least, a striking lily due to the extraordinary color combination of the flowers. Deep dark red (let's say burgundy-purple) with bright fiery orange tips. The heart (throat) of this lily is orange.

Asian lilies are sturdy lilies that grow easily, suitable for perennial planting in public green spaces. They are characterized by a very wide color spectrum with many bold, bright colors. They generally produce a large number of flowers. This type of lily is not fragrant.

Plant your lily bulbs well at a depth of at least 10 cm of soil above the bulb. For very thick lily bulbs, this can also be 15 cm. Planting deeply is important because the lily also develops stem roots.

In gardens, lilies are valued as attractive focal points in colorful flower beds, in combination with perennials, in rock gardens, and gardens with wild plants, or as potted plants.

The flowers are valuable cut flowers.

The lily is truly full of symbolism. The main symbolic meanings are:

  • Femininity. In the time of the Greeks and Romans, brides were given a crown of lilies in the hope of a pure and fruitful life.
  • Love. In the Victorian era, receiving a sweet-scented lily meant: ‘This is my lover’
  • Purity. White lilies are often used at weddings as a sign of virginity and purity.
  • Transience. The serene and pure appearance of the lily expresses emotions in times of loss and mourning.

How can you enjoy your bouquet for as long as possible? Here are some tips:

  • Fill a clean vase with tap water at room temperature and add cut flower food.
  • Cut the flower stems at a 45-degree angle by 3 to 5 cm with a sharp and clean knife.
  • Make sure no leaves are hanging in the water and regularly top up the water.
  • Do not place your bouquet in a draft, in direct sunlight, near heating, or next to a fruit bowl.
