Trumpet lily
Back in our assortment, the true classic trumpet lily. Just like the Regale, but smaller in size (up to 90 cm) with fragrant, white flowers (inside and outside) with a yellow heart.
The king lily (Lilium regale) is a very well-known lily, commonly planted in many gardens.
The trumpet lily has no great demands and is satisfied with any normal garden soil. It combines well with perennials in the border. The wonderfully fragrant flowers are great for use as cut flowers. Plant immediately upon receipt. Pure white with a yellow center.
Originally, lilies grow across the entire Northern Hemisphere. The lily has been seen as a flower with meaning for thousands of years due to the various symbolisms it carries. These symbolisms include femininity, love, purity, and transience. But the lily also carries a beautiful history. In 1150, the French king Louis used the lily on his shield as a symbol of his name (Louis or Loys) and power. The lily is portrayed as a subject in many historical paintings.
- Choose a nice spot for the lilies. They love plenty of sun, so ensure a place where the sun shines abundantly.
- Dig a hole 10 to 15 cm deep. It is better to plant the lily bulbs too deep than too shallow, as this keeps the bulbs nice and cool and also ensures that the stems stand sturdier.
- Loosen the soil at the bottom of the planting hole and place the lily bulbs in the hole. Maintain a planting distance of 15 cm so that all bulbs receive enough sunlight.
- Cover the hole with soil over the lily bulbs.
- Water the lily bulbs immediately. This ensures that the roots start to grow quickly.
