(Asian lily)
The yellow Asian lily Yellow Power makes an impression as a garden and cut flower with its particularly bright and summery color.
Asian lilies are sturdy lilies that grow easily, suitable for perennial planting in public green spaces. They are characterized by a very wide color spectrum with many bold, bright colors. They generally produce a large number of flowers. This type of lily is scentless.
Plant immediately upon receipt to prevent the bulb from drying out.
Plant your lily bulbs at the right depth, at least 10 cm of soil above the bulb. For very thick lily bulbs, this can also be 15 cm. Planting deep is important because the lily also develops stem roots.
In gardens, lilies are appreciated as attractive eye-catchers in colorful flower beds, in combination with perennials, in rock gardens, and gardens with wild plants, or as potted plants.
And the flowers are of course beautiful as cut flowers!
The lily is one of the oldest bulbous plants we know. In ancient writings and images dating from 2000 to 1500 years before Christ, the lily is already visible. This refers to the (white) Madonna lily, which is originally native to the countries around the Mediterranean Sea. Lilies can multiply quickly, which keeps growers and breeders quite busy. Crossbreeding results in more and more distinct forms and colors. While in the last century it was mainly the cultivars from the Asian, Oriental, and Longiflorum groups, by 2020 there are hybrids between Longiflorum x Asian (LA), Oriental x Asian (OA), Oriental x trumpet (OT), and new cultivars from the wild Lilium martagon. Think of flowers with a huge diameter, with an almost black heart, multicolored varieties, double flowers, scentless lilies, or very special specimens like the Lilium ‘Apricot Fudge’.
