(Jonquil daffodil)

The Narcissus Pipit is a well-known, wonderfully fragrant daffodil that was registered in 1963 (Grant E. Mitsch, USA). This bicolor daffodil blooms mid-season with 2 to 3 flowers per stem and is recognizable by its yellow petals that fade to white.

This daffodil has been awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society (2001).

Division 7 - Jonquilla daffodils: Usually one to five flowers per stem. They are often strongly scented and have dark green, tubular foliage.

From bright yellow to creamy and pure white, sometimes adorned with a bright orange crown – daffodils always bring a touch of spring into the home. Not only do daffodils always look cheerful, some also spread a delightful fragrance that reminds one of spring. Commonly, the daffodil is also known as the Easter lily or Easter flower.

The daffodil is named after the vain hunter in Greek mythology. Narcissus was so in love with his reflection in the water that he ultimately drowned in it. That is why daffodils always seem to look a little downwards.
