The genus Puschkinia is named after the Russian count Apollos Apollosvich Mussin-Pushkin, a botanist who died in 1805 and collected many plants in the Caucasus. Originally, Puschkinia comes from Turkey, Lebanon, Iran, and the Caucasus.
