Also known as Siberian Squill. Beautiful deep blue flowers that are easy to grow.

Originally from Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Northern Iran, found in moist meadows near the snow line, but it has now become well established in Western Europe. It has 1-5 flower stems, each with a cluster of 2-3 star-shaped lightly fragrant deep blue flowers. It grows 10-20 cm tall and was described in 1796. It attracts many bees and bumblebees and is ideal for naturalizing in sunny to partially shaded spots under deciduous trees and rock gardens.
