Single Late Tulips: This variety is ideal for combining with early blooming types, so you can enjoy the tulip season for a longer time. The Single Late Tulips bloom in May. This variety is quite tall with a strong flower stem, allowing you to cut them for a vase indoors! Great if you also want to enjoy these beautiful flowers inside.

We plant these tulips about 10cm deep and 10cm apart.

Garden tips:

After blooming, pinch off the faded flowers or remove the entire stem, so all nutrients go to the bulb. Leave the leaves until they are completely withered.

Tulips can also be planted in pots on the terrace; they look best when combined with other bulbs, a method we call lasagna planting with bulbs.

Do you want to enjoy colorful flowers early and for a long time while the rest of the garden is still in deep winter sleep? Then create a lasagna planting of bulbs. A fun DIY project with rewarding results.

Lasagna planting is a way of planting bulbs that is also known as tiered planting. It means that bulbs are planted in layers on top of each other, just like a lasagna dish or the floors of an apartment building. Because the bulbs are planted in layers, the early bloomers, such as crocuses, bloom first. Then follow the bulbs that bloom later. This successive blooming allows you to enjoy them for an extended period – from January to sometimes even May.

There are a few things you need for a lasagna planting of bulbs. It starts with a pot that is large and tall enough to plant at least three layers. You will also need hydro granules, potting soil, and of course, bulbs.
