Hennie van der Most is known for its durability. The stem is sturdy and with its red/yellow color, it is a super beautiful tulip.

Type from 2010 (W. van Lierop) named after a well-known Dutch businessman.

Triumph Tulips have a classic tulip shape that starts conical and then opens into a gloriously symmetrical egg shape. This group has the greatest variation in color. The blooming period is generally April.

After the tulip blooms, the bulb will want to produce seeds. It puts all its energy into producing offspring. Therefore, cut the flower off after blooming. All the energy and nutrients that the plant then produces will go to the bulb, making it strong enough for a new blooming season.

The tulip is the most cultivated bulb in the Netherlands. Almost half of all bulb fields (more than 12,000 hectares) are planted with tulips. (source: CBS 2016).

Tulips were introduced to the Western world by the Viennese ambassador to Turkey, Ogier Gisleen van Busbeke, who wrote about the flowers he had seen in 1551 in Turkish Edirne. Later, he sent some seeds of them to Austria.

The arrival of a shipment of tulip bulbs in 1562 in Antwerp marked the beginning of European tulip cultivation. The first documented specimens were planted by the Fleming Carolus Clusius in the Hortus botanicus Leiden Hortus, which he led from 1593.
